August 4. Thursday

  • Redman: He’ll be at Pipeline Café (805 Pohukaina

  • Victory at Sea: It will be showing throughout the hours
    of 9am-5pm at the Battleship Missouri Memorial, which is located at
    Pier Foxtrot-5 in Pearl Harbor. Adults are $16 and children 12 and under
    are $8 to visit the memorial. There is no extra charge to watch the

August 5. Friday

  • Audiolab: Playing from 9pm-2am, you can go to Mercury
    (1154 Fort Street Mall & Chaplain Lane) in Chinatown. Free before

  • Maori Song and Dance Competition: Go to the Polynesian

  • Total Science: They will be performing at Indigo (1121

August 6. Saturday

  • Wine Tasting: Go to the Wine Stop (1809 South King

  • Slightly Stoopid: They’re back to play at Pipeline Café
    on August 6th. The show is 18 and over at 805 Pohukaina
    Street and their number is 589 1999. Tickets are $17 and can be bought at

  • Drum Circle: Camp Mokuleia (68-729 Farrington Highway)
    will hold the 10th Annual Inter-island Community Drum

  • Island Wonderland: At 6pm, listen to local bands
    Positive Energy, Big Jay T, and DJs from Mastermind Entertainment. This will

  • Leeward Orchid Society Show: The show will be at
    Waipahu High School (94-1211 Farrington Highway) from 9am-3pm. Admission is

  • Hawaii Kai Dog Walk: This will start and end at the
    Hawaii Kai Park & Ride Makai lot, which is across from Costco. It
    will include Kalanianaole Highway, Hawaii Kai Drive, and Keahole street.

  • Karaoke Contest: The Hawaii finals will be held at the

August 8. Monday

  • Raku Ho’olaule’a: The cost should be about $10 per
    family or tent, as a monetary donation. For more information, contact the

    The event will be held at Kualoa Park in Kaneohe. You can get there by
    getting on the Kahekili Highway.
  • Hawaii Water Polo Tournaments: August 8 is the first
    day of six to observe the 37th Annual competition. It will be
    located at the Duke Kahanamouku Aquatic Complex on the University of

  • Journey with a King: The museum is located at 1525

August 9. Tuesday

  • Fort Street Open Market: This happens in downtown
    Honolulu every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Wilcox Park and HPU
    campus end of Fort Street from 8am-2pm. It’s free to attend and on
    Tuesday, you can listen to live music from noon to 1.
  • Book Fair: Books Are Fun is putting this on in Harbor
    Court (66 Queen Street). Admission is free and you can check out
    http://www.booksarefunhawaii.com
    for more information on the fair.
  • Sigur Ros: The Icelandic quartet will be playing at the
    beautiful Hawaii Theatre on August 9, at 8pm. Hawaii Theatre’s website

August 10. Wednesday

  • Tai Chi for Arthritis: From 3-4pm, head on over to the
    Tenrikyo Honolulu Ko (349 North Judd Street). It is $4 and goes on

  • Writing Workshop: The program is from 6:30-7:30pm on
    August 10th and is recommended for writers 12 and older. It

  • Ka’ala Boys: One of Hawaii’s favorite live acts will be
